What's on the horizon for CFRA in 2017

2016 was a year of growth and development for CFRA. We want take a moment to thank you for your membership and share what you can expect from CFRA in 2017.

CFRA's primary focus remains: impacting policy change to advance the programs and resources that strengthen California families. Thanks to the support of The California Endowment, CFRA continues to engage in a variety of policy areas that impact low-income communities. In 2016 our members participated in over a dozen online and in-person trainings and put their skills into action at CFRA's Capitol Day.

The most exciting news of 2016 is that CFRA's parent organization, The Child Abuse Prevention Center (The CAP Center), partnered with SDSU Social Policy Institute and Children's Bureau and were awarded the Strategies 2.0 grant from OCAP. This multi-year grant positions our collaborative partnership as the statewide leader in training, technical assistance, networking, and capacity-building services for the family strengthening field.

With this new role, we are working hard to gather input from the field and develop an array of new training and networking opportunities. In 2017 you will be invited to join quarterly convenings in six regional learning communities across the state.

Moving forward, CFRA will continue to offer core membership benefits including CFRA Policy Committee and enewsletters with the latest news, policy and budget analysis, grant opportunities, and calls to action. CFRA will also continue to apply for grants on behalf of our members and advocate for increased resources for the field.

CFRA is committed to pursuing grant opportunities and advancing advocacy priorities that help provide resources for our members and our field. Thank you for your continued membership in our ever-growing network of over 300 family serving organizations dedicated to impacting policies that help families and communities thrive. Together, we can make a difference!
